When is the best time to visit Tulum?
Tulum is beautiful all year round, with its own unique charm in every season.
That said, the most popular months for a Tulum vacation are from November to April, when the weather is generally sunny, dry, and pleasantly warm.
Keep in mind that June to October is the rainy season, with occasional showers and higher humidity – though it’s also quieter and more peaceful, perfect for travellers who enjoy a more relaxed vibe.
What should I know about the rainy season in Tulum?
Tulum’s rainy season runs from June 1st to October 31st, with the heaviest rainfall typically in September and October.
Most days still include plenty of sunshine – rain often falls overnight or in short bursts, offering a refreshing break from the heat. However, tropical storms can occasionally bring rain during the day.
We strongly recommend travel insurance during hurricane season. While hurricanes are rare, they are unpredictable. Please note that the hotel is not responsible for weather-related disruptions, and refunds or credits are only offered if a government-mandated evacuation is issued.
How much seaweed is there on the beach in Tulum?
Tulum, like many Caribbean destinations, experiences seasonal seaweed arrivals, most commonly during the summer months.
At our hotel, we have a dedicated beach team that clears seaweed early each morning, using carts and manual tools to keep the beach as clean and inviting as possible. Some days, the beach is clear by sunrise; on others, ocean currents may bring in new seaweed throughout the day.
When the beach conditions vary, we encourage guests to explore all the amazing experiences Tulum has to offer: swim in cenotes, visit Mayan ruins and the Sian Ka’an Biosphere, go biking, take a boat trip to see dolphins, or even swim with whale sharks in Holbox.
If you prefer to stay on-site, you can relax by the swimming pool, enjoy your private plunge pool (ground floor), or soak in your open-air hot tub (upper floor rooms).
Our concierge team is connected to a local beach network, so we can always share updates on the cleanest nearby beaches each day.
The local government is also actively working to address the issue, with new seaweed barriers being installed to help keep the shoreline clear.
What happens if I need to cancel due to a medical, work, or family emergency? Will I get a refund on a non-refundable booking?
We completely understand that unexpected situations like illness, work obligations, or family emergencies can arise.
However, as a small boutique hotel with limited rooms, we have a very limited ability to resell rooms on short notice, even in low season. This is why non-refundable and strict cancellation policies are typically enforced, and fees cannot usually be waived, especially during high-demand periods.
To protect your travel investment, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance that covers:
- Trip cancellations or delays
- Medical emergencies or illness
- Lost luggage, accidents, or theft
Please check your travel insurance policy carefully to ensure you’re covered for cancellations related to emergencies.
Yes, we allow outside vendors for select services we do not offer in-house, such as professional photography, makeup, or hairstyling.
Please note:
- A $50 USD vendor access fee applies.
- Guests must email our Concierge team in advance to register the vendor.
- Upon arrival, the vendor must check in at the front desk and provide their name.
- To protect the privacy and comfort of all guests, access is limited and monitored.
If you’re planning a service during your stay, feel free to reach out—we’ll be happy to help coordinate.
Do you offer the best available rates online?
Yes, we always offer our best available rates when you book directly through our official website or by contacting us.
You may see our hotel listed on various third-party websites, but please be cautious—if a rate looks too good to be true, it might be a scam. Unfortunately, we’re only made aware of fraudulent listings when guests report them after being affected.
If you find a lower rate elsewhere and are unsure about its legitimacy, please email us before booking or submitting payment. We’ll be happy to verify it for you.
Booking directly ensures secure reservations, the best prices, and full access to guest support.
